Dates Preliminary November 5th (Sun) 9:00-13:00 & 14:00-1700 November 6th (Mon) 9:00-13:00 Semifinal November 6th (Mon) 14:00-17:00 November 7th (Tue) 9:00-12:00 Final November 7th (Tue) 13:00-17:00 Award Ceremony November 7th (Tue) 17:00 Venue School of Continuing Education, Chinese Culture University, Da-Hsia Branch Concert Hall (B1) Eligibility Chinese singers were born after January 1st 1977 Repertoire Requirement 3 pieces from Category A and 2 pieces from Category B, C or D. Category A: Arias from opera, oratorio or musical or foreign art songs including: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish or Russian. All of the above need to be sung in the original key and language. Category B: 2 Mandarin art songs by Yau-Tai Hwang or Lin Shen-Xi. Category C: 2 Mandarin or Hoklo art songs by Mao-Shuen Chen. Category D: 2 Mandarin art songs by Fu-Tang Huang. Rules and Regulations 1. Contestants must perform from memory. 2. A copy of the scores from selection A and B must be send upon application. Contestants who failed to attach their scores will be disqualified. 3. Music by Mao-Shuen Chen and Fu-Tang Huang would be able for downloading at the Ren Rong Performance Art Center website after application is confirmed. 4. Accompanists are provided for singers during the competition, however, you may also bring your own accompanist. 5. The winners of “Best Interpretation of Mao-Shuen Chen’s Music” and “Best Interpretation of A-Tang’s Music” will be invited to perform in Mao-Shuen Chen and A-Tang joint concert in National Recital Hall, 2018. Contracts will be negotiated after the competition. 3. The competition and winners' recital will be recorded. The copyright of the performance will be belonged to Ren Rong Performance Art Center. 4. Amateur Category: The Song We Love vocal competition
Dates Preliminary November 3rd (Fri) 9:00- 13:00, 14:00-17:00 Final November 4th (Sat) 9:00- 13:00, 14:00-17:00 Award Ceremony November 4th (Sat) 17:00 Venue School of Continuing Education, Chinese Culture University, Da-Hsia Branch Concert Hall (B1) Eligibility Non vocal majors who were born after January 1st 2004. The competition has three categories: 1. Teen: 13-18 yo 2. Adult: 18 yo and above 3. Elder: Above 60 yo Repertoire Requirement Music from either category A or B. Category A: 3 pieces in the following language: Chinese, Taiwanese, Hakka, English, German, French, Italian or Spanish. Category B: 2 art songs by Mao-Shuen Chen or Fu-Tang Huang. Rules and Regulations 1. Contestants must sing 2 pieces from category A or one song from category A and another from category B at the preliminary round. At the final competition, contestants are to perform 2 or 3 pieces in total. There will be 2 pieces of your own choice (one of which can be repeated from your repertoire in the preliminary screening), the panel of juries may request a third song in the final competition. If you are interested to enroll in “Best Interpretation of Mao-Shuen Chen’s Music” or “Best Interpretation of A-Tang’s Music”, you would need to sing 1 or 2 pieces from category B.
